We are working with a well-established manufacturer of cold‑rolled steel framing systems, a leader in steel components for load‑bearing and modular construction. As Head of Engineering, you will take charge of the framing function from the ground up and guide it through its first critical 12 months and beyond.
Responsibilities
- Lead product development for the load‑bearing wall framing system, from concept through to delivery.
- Secure all necessary accreditations and approvals to enable market entry and project delivery.
- Build up internal design and estimating capabilities to support scalable growth and multiple incoming enquiries.
- Provide technical support to the sales team, educate and empower them to confidently promote the new framing product.
- Drive market positioning and penetration in the load‑bearing sector, including exploring SFS‑infill opportunities with existing clients for a faster route to market.
- Align technical development with commercial objectives to deliver growth and margin targets.
Qualifications
- HNC in Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
- Proven experience with CAD and design software (e.g. Bluebeam).
- Hands‑on knowledge of light gauge steel / cold‑rolled steel framing, including fire testing, structural design and compliance.
- A proven track record in delivering new products/systems from design and certification through to supply.
- Strong project management skills, with ability to take ownership of ambitious technical‑commercial projects.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to visit factory and client sites as required.
