The Opportunity
The Facilities Management team comprises Mechanical and Electrical Services Engineers with strong technical and consultancy expertise across various sectors. We seek someone with this blended knowledge to join our Bristol team, providing specialist advice on building aftercare, including Strategic and Financial Planning, Technical Services, and Operational Support. You will deliver technical excellence and sustainable solutions.
Your responsibilities include:
- Conducting surveys such as condition, lifecycle, and performance assessments of buildings
- Supporting Arup's efforts in decarbonisation, net zero, and sustainability for existing buildings
- Developing maintenance contracts, tender specifications, and promoting digital, data-driven FM solutions
- Performing whole-life carbon assessments, asset protection, and plant replacement strategies for MEP services and facades
- Managing multiple projects efficiently while ensuring high-quality outcomes
- Aligning solutions with client objectives, including sustainable project implementations
- Preparing and executing deliverables like technical reports, drawings, and specifications

- Hold a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering or equivalent
- Are chartered or working towards Chartered Engineer status (e.g., CIBSE)
- Have a strong understanding of building services design, maintenance standards, and FM best practices
- Have experience conducting condition surveys, lifecycle assessments, and evaluating building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing)
- Can provide expert advice on building aftercare, strategic and financial planning, technical services, and operational support
