The Opportunity

To support our continued ambitious growth in Energy, we have a new opportunity for an Energy Consultant to join our vibrant team in either Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, or Sheffield. You will join a project team in the development of strategies, solutions, and integrated project schemes for both public sector and private sector clients. Our recent projects include solar photovoltaics, electricity storage, low temperature heat networks, low carbon heat generation, hydrogen for transport, biomass CHP projects, energy recovery facilities, and standby gas generation for data centres.

In this role you will consult on net zero solutions and decarbonisation developments under various energy vectors & domains, particularly Wind, BESS, and Solar. You will work on sustainability policy development and analysis, carbon management, renewables, and climate services with regional stakeholders, and optimise processes for asset management applications. You will also support decarbonisation master planning at an estate, city, regional, and national scale, and continue to develop integrated projects with wider portfolio teams, prepare bids for client opportunities & funding rounds, specifically in the areas of decarbonisation.

Is this role right for you?

  • MEng or MSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Chartered Engineering (or Working towards) with membership of relevant professional institution(s).
  • A working knowledge of technical consulting projects including energy infrastructure feasibility studies and portfolio or area energy strategies.
  • Ability to undertake strong project and technical analysis, reporting and presentation, and support business cases for energy investments and infrastructure refurbishments.
  • Candidates with Electrical distribution knowledge at HV and MV in the energy sector would be an advantage.
