This is an exciting time to join Arup as we sit at the heart of the UK's infrastructure sector, leading on a number of nationally significant schemes in energy, water, aviation and more! As a result, we have a growing need for specialist consultants to join our stakeholder engagement and consultation centre of excellence in the Midlands.
We are looking for passionate, mid-level engagement and consultation consultants, looking to take their next career step, supporting some of the UK's largest DCOs, working with our team and partners in the delivery of stakeholder engagement, consultation and reporting. This is an opportunity to further develop your understanding of the engagement, consultations and communications requirements under a range of statutory instruments and non-strategy guidance while supporting the development of others.
You will develop and promote best practice on consultation within the team and be an advocate for this in the wider company. You will have the opportunity to work on high profile projects of national and regional significance, developing a range of consultation and engagement skills with a range of clients.

Is this role right for you? You will help strengthen our national consultation and engagement offer by acting as a deputy stakeholder engagement lead for projects, contributing to the preparation of stakeholder and consultations plans. You will oversee the analysis and coding of consultation responses and the production of coding frameworks. This will include supporting author of consultation reports (statutory & non-statutory) and supporting the development of new technologies and best practice techniques for consultation. Another aspect of your role will be to assist with management and delivery of public consultation events, including the management and facilitation of stakeholder workshops. You will also support the identification and mapping of stakeholders and audiences, drafting project key messages for a range of audiences.
Requirements:
- Demonstrable experience in delivering stakeholder engagement & consultation requirements for DCOs and TCPAs.
- Desire to work towards chartership of a relevant professional institute e.g. Consultation Institute or Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
- Proficient in MS packages including MS Project & the ability to contribute to the development of a range of consultation & communications tools.
- Project management experience and familiar with supporting consultation events.
- Relevant sector experience (energy, transport, water) in communications, consultation and engagement.
