Arup’s purpose, shared values and collaborative approach has set us apart for over 75 years, guiding how we shape a better world.

We have an exciting opportunity for a senior consultant to join the team in Bristol on a hybrid basis! The purpose of the role is to apply in-depth knowledge and specialist skills in leading and managing the delivery of a range of client projects across the following technical areas: leadership & capability, culture & organisational change, operating model & organisation development. You will liaise closely with key client stakeholders to facilitate the delivery of set project outcomes, reviewing, analysing and reporting on client’s organisational behaviour and cultural landscape, and apply your knowledge of organisational change theories and practices to make recommendations to client challenges.

You will lead a team of consultants in the development and delivery of end-end transformational programmes by setting standards, defining quality, providing technical and people management support to team members. You will have project management/planning experience by outlining full projects/activities and resources required, e.g. time, people and skills. This will include financial reviews and reporting, technical leadership and client relationship management, contributing to business development and work opportunities while developing compelling and winning proposals.

At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas. You will have the opportunity to do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.

We are seeking an individual with extensive experience in people and change consulting with a background in two or more of our technical areas: team effectiveness & collaboration, leadership & capability, culture & organisational change, operating model & organisation development. This could be from a consultancy or in-house environment.

You will have the ability to work collaboratively with clients and multi-disciplinary teams to help shape and deliver the best solution with strong commercial acumen and project management/delivery skills.

You will have the following skills & attributes:

  • A degree in a relevant discipline and ideally a chartered member with a relevant professional institute.
  • Capability in developing business proposals for clients, by understanding client requirements and drawing together expertise from across a multi-disciplinary firm.
  • Experience of business development, project management/scheduling and leading teams of consultants in this area.
  • Ability to demonstrate a methodological and creative approach to decision-making even in an ambiguous environment.
  • A background in one or more of the following sectors would be an advantage: Finance, Rail, Highways, Energy, Aviation and/or Water.

At Arup, we care about each member’s success, so we can grow together. Guided by our values, we provide an attractive total reward package that recognises the contribution of each of our members to our shared success. As well as competitive, fair and equitable pay, we offer a career in which all of our members can belong, grow and thrive – through benefits that support health and wellbeing, a wide range of learning opportunities and many possibilities to have an impact through the work they do.

We are owned in trust on behalf of our members, giving us the freedom, with personal responsibility, to set our own direction and choose work that aligns with our purpose and adds to Arup’s legacy. Our members collaborate on ambitious projects to deliver remarkable outcomes for our clients and communities. Profit Share is a key part of our reward, enabling members to share in the results of our collective efforts.

We also provide Private medical insurance, Life assurance, Accident insurance and Income protection cover. In addition, you’ll have access to flexible benefits to help you look after all aspects of your wellbeing and give you the freedom and flexibility to find the best solutions for you, your family, and your individual needs.
