Is this role right for you? We are looking for candidates with experience and passion in developing Railway strategy, policy, planning, business cases, demand and operations. You will have the ability to confidently communicate complex problems and solutions to technical and non-technical audiences. You will have a good understanding and appreciation of railway planning and management, and a clear understanding of the inter-relationships between strategies, plans and delivery mechanisms in the UK rail industry.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of rail industry structure and policy.
  • Ability to develop and influence strategy and policy.
  • Experience in operational strategy development, including development of outputs such as Indicative Train Service Specifications and Concept Train Plans.
  • Assessing future impacts of timetable changes and introduction of new train services, including the use of bespoke software (RailSys, Attune etc).
  • Understanding of industry performance data, demand assessment and fares & ticketing.
  • Experience of engaging and presenting to Train Operators and Industry Partners.
