At Arup we are seeking a Public Health Engineer to work on technically challenging projects in the science and healthcare sectors across the UK and worldwide. The role will allow you to contribute to a range of assignments within our Building Engineering Team in London.
The Opportunity
As a Public Health Engineer you will play an active role in all stages of our projects from feasibility through to completion, across diverse sectors. You will be involved in the production of design information, mentoring junior staff and reviewing project deliverables as part of multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop engineering solutions from concept through to implementation.
- Support the development of engineers, maintaining an overview of public health engineering design quality, planning and managing resourcing.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior members of the team.
- Support bid preparation and business development activities.
- Liaise with clients and manage client meetings as required.
- Drive innovation in building design through deep knowledge of public health building services engineering.
- Develop leadership skills by working alongside the Public Health Design Leader on multidisciplinary projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s level engineering qualifications or higher (building services engineering, hydraulic engineering, civil engineering or mechanical engineering).
- In-depth understanding and practical experience of the design of core public health systems.
- Good understanding of BIM.
- Excellent communication and report‑writing skills.
