The Opportunity
Arup’s North Group is pursuing an ambitious growth strategy, of which Projects & Programmes (P&P) is a key service offering. Our growing Advisory Services offering includes an increasingly diverse P&P capability comprising PMO, project controls, design integration, and strategic delivery advice to clients in the Energy, Water, Transport, Science and Industry sectors. With this continued expansion, we are looking to grow our P&P team and are seeking experienced individuals who will be responsible for project schedule management across a wide and varied portfolio of projects. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects including Water, Rail, Highways & Nuclear, delivering projects for major sector companies. You will be closely networked with Arup’s national P&P teams and will have access to a breadth of specialist project planning expertise. As a project planner you will be connected with a wider discipline team of planners in the UK and have the opportunity to work on major projects across Europe.

Are These Roles Right For You?
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and MS Project to produce Integrated Master Schedules.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, construction and client teams to ensure accurate programme data and timely delivery of project objectives.
- Establish and support Change Control Processes throughout the Project Lifecycle and prepare regular progress reports, forecasts, and dashboards for stakeholders, highlighting risks, issues, and mitigation strategies.
- Support as appropriate on a range of business development activities including preparation of tender submissions and strategy development.
- Carry out Earned Value analysis, cost and resource loading, and schedule performance analysis and schedule health checks and quality assurance reviews.
- Integrate schedules with risk registers and ensure compliance with internal and external standards and ensure alignment with contract requirements (e.g., NEC4, JCT, RIBA).
BSc in engineering, project management or similar. Accreditation with recognised institution is desirable. Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, MS Excel and Microsoft office applications. Advanced schedule quality assurance processes and software such as Acumen Fuse. Knowledge and understanding of design and/or development process for major projects and experience of managing schedules and progress reporting from technical discipline teams and/or sub-consultants. Hold a current UK Passport.
