Job description - the role

On behalf of Arup, we are looking for a Project Engineer for a 6 Month contract based in London.

Candidate Profile: Key accountabilities, skills & experience

We have a need for a Senior Engineer to join the Infra team on secondment for the role of a Project Engineer in the Thames Valley area. Preference would be for a Civil Engineer with Waste water infrastructure (Pipelines) experience but clean water infrastructure experience would be considered. The role would be under Lot 3, FA1980.

Responsibilities

  • Working under the direction of a Principal Engineer, the role is part of the intelligent client model Thames Water needs to be able to achieve its capital investment ambitions in AMP7 and beyond.
  • Oversee the development of a number of Projects to meet defined needs with best value solutions at various parts of the TW network within the Thames Valley.
  • Understand and mitigate project Risks to reduce Programme and Project delivery Costs.
  • Provide Design sign-off to between the Asset Management and Capital Delivery departments as the selected Delivery Stream dictates.
  • Provide Technical Assurance for projects during the Delivery, Commissioning and hand over of Assets.

Criteria

  • Degree-level qualified in the relevant discipline.
  • Chartered status or equivalent (if applicable), and membership of the relevant professional institution.
  • Postgraduate experience in the discipline, specifically within the water industry on relevant projects.
  • Capable of operating at the required level, with demonstrable experience.
  • Proven leadership experience across comparable environments, including team management.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic oversight and ensure technical/delivery excellence.
  • Authorised to review and approve team outputs prior to submission to Thames Water.
