This role is an exciting opportunity to drive and shape Arup’s social value delivery across the Midlands. You will join a growing team of social value specialists in our Midlands, West and Wales region to deliver positive social impact for Arup and our clients.
You will have responsibility for developing our social value strategy for the region and delivering innovative and impactful social value offers for a range of clients. You will play a key role in supporting a wide range of positive social outcomes, from training and skills programmes to pro-bono support for charities and developing local supplier relations. You will develop and manage our collaboration with local partners to ensure that our activities complement existing activity and meet the needs of communities in which we work. You will play a key role in communicating the impact that we are making to both internal and external stakeholders – helping us to demonstrate that “we shape a better world”. This is a part-time role.
Requirements and Skills
- Well-developed understanding of the key drivers and developments in social value delivery in the UK and in the Midlands, and experience of applying this knowledge
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage a wide variety of audiences including internal leaders, clients and multi-disciplinary project teams
- Proven relationship management skills used to develop and lead long term relationships, including with local authority and voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector partners
- Understanding of, and practical experience in using social value metrics in the measurement, monitoring and reporting of social outcomes and impact
- Experience of supporting work winning with an understanding of social value in procurement
- Organisation skills with the ability to manage projects and programmes of work
