Our Electrical Engineers apply their specialist skills to infrastructure projects across the globe. We offer our clients a broad spectrum of expertise and consulting services in, but not limited to, the following industries:
- Water - water and wastewater treatment, pumping stations, reservoirs, water distribution;
- Energy - hydro, CHP, waste-to-energy, solar PV, hydrogen, wind, gas;
- Power - HV/LV Transmission and Distribution;
- Industrial Clients - steam generation, chemical handling;
- Process - food and beverage processing.
Our clients include water companies, energy generators, energy infrastructure owners, rail infrastructure owners, Government agencies and councils, process industries and renewable energy investors.
The Opportunity
We're looking for talented Electrical Engineers with strong experience across both the Water and Energy sectors to join our growing team. Whether you're an experienced leader ready to take on strategic responsibilities or a mid-level professional eager to develop, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to winning and delivering projects across the UK in Water and Energy. You'll collaborate closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative, sustainable solutions, while supporting project delivery to meet quality, timeline, and budget expectations.
The role offers exposure to a wide range of projects, including water treatment, water distribution, wastewater systems, as well as renewable energy (wind, solar, hydro, and energy storage) and industrial infrastructure. You will apply and grow your knowledge of electrical and control systems design, CDM regulations, and relevant industry tools. Throughout, you'll play a part in advancing Arup's mission to create a low-carbon, equitable future aligned with our values and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
What we're looking for:
- Strong background in electrical design, with applied experience in the Water and/or Energy sectors
- Ability to produce and interpret detailed design documentation and drawings
- Experience with relevant design tools and software (e.g. Trimble and other industry-standard systems)
- Exposure to instrumentation and control systems would be beneficial
- For senior candidates: experience managing multidisciplinary projects and strong knowledge of CDM regulations
- For mid-level candidates: enthusiasm to learn and develop technical and leadership skills
- Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline; professional registration (IEng/CEng) or working towards it is desirable
Successful candidates will need an eligible UK Driving license along with holding or being eligible to gain security clearance is advantageous.
