As a Senior Highway Engineer at Arup, you will play a key role in delivering a wide range of transport and highway projects. You will work across design, coordination and project management—leading the development of drawings, reports, calculations, BOQs and specifications, and ensuring work meets technical and contractual standards. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, support bid preparation and contribute to high‑profile schemes across the region. This role offers the opportunity to shape successful highways projects from feasibility through to detailed design and statutory processes. You will help maintain strong client relationships, work to tight deadlines and support the delivery of projects on time, within budget and to the highest quality.

Experience with NEC contract preparation or project management is beneficial, and you will have opportunities to expand your skill set in both areas.

Qualifications

  • A relevant HND, degree or master's qualification.
  • Experience using industry‑standard software (e.g., Civil 3D, AutoCAD, AutoTrack, PDS Line, MicroDrainage).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues, write clear reports and manage client relationships.
  • Professional qualification or progress toward one with a relevant institution.
  • Enthusiasm for transport and highways design, with an understanding of project delivery across the full lifecycle.
