Job Title – Mechanical Building Services Engineer (Intermediate Level)
Location – Bristol
The Opportunity
As a Mechanical Building Services Engineer, you will be a key part of the Building Services Engineering team, working on multidisciplinary projects. You will provide guidance to graduate engineers and collaborate closely with building physicists, sustainability consultants, energy and carbon consultants, and BIM modellers. This team is part of a broader regional group that includes civil, structural, fire, acoustics, specialist lighting, and other engineering disciplines.
In this role, you will play an active part in all stages of our projects, from feasibility through to completion, across a range of sectors. You will apply your engineering expertise to shape our projects and help drive them towards achieving net zero carbon goals.
Working in an interdisciplinary environment, you will aim to design buildings that maximise value for our clients while minimising their environmental impact. You will offer consultancy advice and prepare design reports, specifications, drawings, and models to meet project deadlines.
Additionally, you will contribute to the ongoing digital transformation of our business. This includes seeking innovative ways to increase efficiency through automation and exploring new services we can offer clients through our integrated digital approach to design.

Is this role right for you?
We’re looking for a candidate who:
- Holds a degree in Mechanical, Building Services, or Architectural Engineering, with a strong technical foundation and a passion for innovative design.
- Is On the Path to Chartership: Actively working towards Chartered Engineer status through a recognized institution such as IMechE or CIBSE, demonstrating commitment to professional growth.
- Has Proven Design Experience: Brings hands-on experience in mechanical building services design across a variety of building types and project scales, with a track record of delivering high-quality solutions.
- Is Sustainability-Driven: Shows a keen interest and working knowledge of sustainable building design, energy efficiency, and carbon reduction—aligned with both regulatory and voluntary standards.
- Is Digitally Fluent: Experienced in working within a BIM environment, with practical skills in Revit and a collaborative approach to digital design workflows.
