The Opportunity
Our PPM team work with clients across numerous industries, providing talented teams of Project Managers who support projects throughout the whole project or programme lifecycle from developing the initial business case to overseeing procurement, undertaking design management, and construction management. We have been experiencing significant demand for programme and project management and delivery partner roles across the UK. This has involved a range of major infrastructure and building estate programmes, urban regeneration, strategy development and city‐wide transformation programmes including net zero commissions.
Our North Advisory business is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our growing programme, project and commercial management team. We are looking for someone who would help support major project delivery and business development activities for our key clients in the infrastructure markets. You will lead the management and oversight of all aspects of project and programme delivery, representing Arup as the day‐to‐day project manager on a diverse range of projects.

Is this role right for you?
As Project Manager you will work with the North PPM leadership team on a range of business development activities including developing client relationships and preparation of bids and supporting the development of new service offerings. You will lead project teams to deliver commissions, in full compliance with Arup Management System requirements and/or Client platforms. This will include integration and management of multidisciplinary teams to delivering work to a high standard of client satisfaction for our clients. As a senior member of our team you will also coach and support the development of junior colleagues on the team.
If you have a background of successful delivery of complex and challenging projects from a professional project management (client facing) perspective i.e. delivering to time, cost, quality, and sustainable outcomes, we'd like to hear from you!
Requirements
- Degree in engineering, architecture or project/construction management (or similar) and professional accreditation/certification such as APM (or similar) in the PPM environment.
- Well established capability and track record in developing new client relationships, identifying opportunities and winning new project work.
- Customer focused with client relationship management skills, including the ability to understand client requirements and bring together different Arup capabilities to develop a solution.
- Understands and has experience in deploying various forms of construction contract, in particular NEC3 or 4 and/or bespoke forms of contract.
- Experience in procurement of design and construction contracts on behalf of external clients is an advantage.
