The Stakeholder team supports meaningful engagement on complex infrastructure and development projects. Our team collaborates closely with planners, engineers, environmental specialists and digital teams to help deliver inclusive, transparent and effective consultation outcomes that support better decisions for clients, communities and stakeholders.

In this role, you will lead the delivery of stakeholder engagement and consultation on major Development Consent Order (DCO) and Town and Country Planning Act (TCPA) projects. Acting as Stakeholder Engagement Lead on projects, you will work directly with clients and project partners, managing consultation workstreams from strategy through to delivery and reporting. You will shape stakeholder and consultation plans, oversee public consultation delivery, lead the analysis and coding of consultation responses, and author or oversee statutory and non‑statutory consultation reports. You will also facilitate stakeholder workshops, support the development of best‑practice consultation approaches and technologies, and mentor colleagues within the team, building strong relationships across Arup to deliver integrated engagement outcomes.

Is this role right for you?

  • Experience leading stakeholder engagement and consultation for DCO and TCPA projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence working directly with clients and stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage consultation workstreams, priorities and delivery teams
  • A creative and strategic approach to consultation, with experience developing and applying a range of engagement and communications tools
  • Experience supporting, mentoring or managing others within consultation and engagement activity
  • Experience in sectors such as energy, transport or water would be advantageous.
