We are looking for talented Electrical Engineers with experience in Instrumentation and Controls to join our growing team, whether you are an experienced leader ready for strategic responsibility or a mid‑level professional eager to develop your skills. At Arup, you will contribute to exciting projects across the UK in the Energy, Water and Resources sectors, supporting both the winning and delivery of work, collaborating with clients and partners to create innovative solutions, and ensuring high‑quality outcomes across design, timelines and budgets.
Senior candidates will have the opportunity to lead multidisciplinary teams, mentor colleagues and shape technical excellence, while those earlier in their careers will gain hands‑on experience, learn from industry experts and build the foundations for future leadership. You will apply and grow your knowledge of Electrical and Control Systems design, CDM regulations and relevant design tools while supporting our mission to deliver a low‑carbon, equitable future aligned with Arup’s values and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. You will work across a wide and varied portfolio of projects, helping to deliver sustainable designs in energy, including wind, solar, hydro, hydrogen and energy storage, as well as water treatment and distribution, wastewater and industrial systems.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and produce detailed design documentation.
- Produce and interpret complex or detailed design drawings and documentation.
- Manage multidisciplinary projects across Energy, Water and Resources sectors, applying CDM regulations.
- Collaborate with clients and partners to create innovative solutions and ensure high‑quality outcomes.
- Work across a wide portfolio of projects to deliver sustainable designs in energy, water treatment and industrial systems.
Qualifications
- Experience in Instrumentation and Controls.
- Familiarity with design software and tools (e.g., Trimble).
- Specialist knowledge in at least one area of Electrical and/or Control Systems engineering.
- Adequate appreciation of Electrical and/or Control Systems engineering and design.
- IEng or CEng Professional Registration status through IET, CIBSE, or other relevant body.
- Degree qualified: likely Master’s Engineering Degree or equivalent.
- Eligible UK driving licence; ability to obtain or hold security clearance is advantageous.
