The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Project Manager to join our established and growing Programme & Project Management (PPM) team in London. You will be part of a diverse team responsible for the delivery of our project and programme management commissions and provide advice across all our markets and clients, with an initial primary focus on the delivery of major complex building projects.

The role of a Principal Project Manager will be to drive, challenge and successfully deliver complex strategic and operational projects using best practice PPM knowledge and advisory skills. You will be leading major building projects for both private and public sector clients in scientific research laboratories (particularly life science), higher education, healthcare, technology and commercial property.

Is this role right for you? The key activities of the role are:

  • Leading complex building projects across sectors including life sciences, education, healthcare and complex buildings.
  • Leading multidisciplinary design teams and contractor performance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Administrating contracts with clients, partners and suppliers while developing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Identifying and mitigating reputational and commercial risks.
  • Leading project meetings and monitoring project progress.
  • Supporting governance processes, business case development and gateway approvals.

Requirements

  • Demonstratable project management experience in the delivery of complex building projects.
  • Experience of the design, procurement and construction stages of a project.
  • A degree in a relevant discipline (engineering, construction management, project management or quantity surveying) and be a member of a relevant professional body such as APM, RICS, ICE, RIBA or CIOB.
  • Knowledge of advisory and consulting disciplines, including bidding and work winning with cross-functional applications of services and skills.
  • A background of management client and stakeholder engagement in large or complex organisational environments.
  • Effective communication, determining their requirements and managing their engagement with integration into the project.
  • Team leadership/management experience.
