The Opportunity
We are looking for a motivated, experienced Principal Electrical Engineer who has demonstrated their technical excellence in the field of building services and is looking for the opportunity to join a dynamic team with real potential for progression. Senior / Principal Electrical Engineers in Arup play a vital and often cross‑disciplinary role in delivering sustainable, reliable, efficient systems across various building types. This opportunity will give the right candidate ownership of their project work, and the responsibility and freedom to delegate tasks and manage their work. The team is currently involved in the delivery of a number of local, national and international projects that include major infrastructure, property, renewables, healthcare, commercial, science and industrial projects.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their ability to:

- maintain a commercial awareness of projects throughout their lifecycle;
- deliver high quality work in their capacity as a technical electrical engineering professional.

Is this role right for you?
We’re looking for a candidate who:
- Is a chartered Engineer and holds a Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical engineering or other relevant subject.
- Possesses a strong track record in electrical & MEP building services engineering design on UK projects.
- Is proficient in the use of Trimble (Amtech / ProDesign), Dialux and/or other electrical design software and be familiar with BIM environments such as Revit and/or MicroStation.
- Has experience in designing from first principles as well as the design of HV, LV, Lighting and lighting controls, Fire Alarms, Security/Access control, electrical design for renewable energy systems and earthing across a range of project types.
- Has a robust working knowledge of relevant British Standards and industry best practice, so that project designs are realistic and practicable when it comes to installation and use.
