Graduate Maritime Engineer (5647) – ArupWe bring inventive, trusted solutions to complex challenges in the maritime and coastal environment. The maritime team works on masterplanning, due diligence, feasibility studies, inspections, consents, engineering design, project management, construction supervision, and more. Projects include port developments, coastal protection, river transport, decarbonisation studies, and waterfront developments.
The RoleYou will work with clients such as investors, port authorities, the Environment Agency, energy companies, local authorities and contractors. You will undertake site visits and surveys, produce reports, presentations, drawings, calculations, specifications, feasibility studies and business cases. Arup will support your professional development through experience and training.
Start DateSeptember 2026.
Qualifications
Minimum of a Master\’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Engineering Science or equivalent.
Enthusiasm for a maritime career with knowledge of ports and coastal sectors.
Understanding of civil and coastal engineering – geotechnics, environment, structures, coastal processes.
Passion for sustainability and decarbonisation of maritime infrastructure.
Analytical thought process and systems‐thinking approach.
Proactive initiative and self‐direction.
Programming experience with coding languages is desirable.
Experience with CAD, GIS and other relevant software is advantageous.
