Joining Arup, our Electrical Engineers apply their specialist skills to infrastructure projects across the globe. We offer our clients a broad spectrum of expertise and consulting services in the following industries:

The Opportunity: We’re looking for talented Electrical Engineers with experience in Instrumentation and Controls to join our growing team. At Arup, you’ll work on exciting projects across the UK in Energy, Water, and Resources sectors. For senior roles, you’ll lead multidisciplinary teams, mentor colleagues, and shape technical excellence. What you’ll do:

  • Contribute to winning and delivering projects across the UK.
  • Collaborate with clients and partners to develop innovative solutions.
  • Work on project delivery, ensuring quality, timelines, and budgets are met.
  • Apply and grow your knowledge of Electrical and Control Systems design, CDM regulations, and relevant design tools.
  • Support our mission to create a low-carbon, equitable future aligned with Arup values and UN Sustainable Development Goals.

You will be working on a wide and exciting variety of projects to deliver sustainable designs in energy (wind, solar, hydro, hydrogen and energy storage), water treatment and distribution, waste water and industrial systems.

What we’re looking for:

  • Ability to interpret and produce detailed design documentation.
  • Familiarity with design software and tools (e.g., Trimble).
  • For senior: Manage Multidisciplinary projects in a wide variety of sectors (Energy, Water, Resources) and have a detailed knowledge of CDM regulations.
  • For mid-level engineer: enthusiasm to learn and develop technical and leadership skills.
  • Ability producing and interpreting complex or detailed design drawings and documentation.
  • Confident to manage multidisciplinary projects in a wide variety of sectors (Energy, Water, Resources) and have a detailed knowledge of CDM regulations.
  • Specialist knowledge: either developing or developed within at least one specialist area of Electrical and/or Control Systems engineering.
  • Appreciation of Electrical and/or Control Systems engineering and in particular, design.
  • Knowledge of relevant design tools, techniques and related methods e.g. IT systems, Trimble etc.
  • Proficient in the specification of development work as well as the interpretation and application of results.
  • Adept with design software as well as other standard products.
  • Ideally IEng or CEng Professional Registration status through IET, CIBSE, or other relevant body/ Degree qualified: likely Masters Engineering Degree or equivalent.

Successful candidate will need an eligible UK Driving licence and holding or being eligible to gain security clearance is advantageous.
