Desirable Experience
- General Civil Engineering Design
- Delivering Water, Utilities or Transport related projects
- Analytical, creative and conceptual thinking and evaluation of options to make decisions.
- Use of AutoCAD or Microstation CAD packages for design and design software packages (InfoDrainage, HADES, Civils 3D) spreadsheets and GIS.
- Interest in BIM, Digital automation and conducting design in a 3D environment.
- Checking the quality and accuracy of own and others’ work.
- Good general office and engineering skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Able to work well both within a team and independently
- Good communication skills, written, spoken and via drawing / sketches
- Responsible for defined parts of design projects and individual projects
- Working with Clients and Customers and colleagues to generate mutual agreeable outcomes.
- Responsible for organising events, activities, processes, and/or small internal business projects.
The Opportunity
Arup’s Civil Engineering team is looking to recruit a Civil Engineer to join our Leeds office to work within a team of about 100 Engineers, Scientists and Technicians who work with others throughout the North of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. We deliver projects for a whole host of clients and organisations including government agencies (both national and local), local authorities, private developers, contractors, and utility companies. We collaborate on projects across the North of United Kingdom, the UK and overseas as part of a wide and diverse global organisation and are therefore able to bring expertise in from far and wide as well as providing support to others around the world.
Is this role right for you?
We are looking for someone with experience in civil engineering design who is passionate about their work, curious, open to learning and keen to develop their technical skills and experience.
What we are looking for
- Suitable Civil Engineering Degree (Class 2.1 or above) in line with technical specialism
- Working towards or achieved a recognised professional qualification
- Relevant practical experience within the field of civil engineering
- Good communication skills
- Interest in sustainable, innovative and digitally enabled engineering solutions.
- Seeks creative and innovated solutions
- Looks to provide design solution which aim to improve the sustainability and social value
