Industrial Placement - Civil Engineering - Water

The Opportunity

Our Belfast Energy, Water & Resources team is at the heart of Northern Ireland's infrastructure landscape. Our current focus spans clean water supply, wastewater networks and treatment, and renewable energy — and we are actively growing our energy practice across the region.

NI Water is a key client of Arup and we have more than 20 ongoing projects including the major Killyhevlin WTW upgrade.

On this 10–12 month Industrial placement, you will:

• Support the team across a wide range of tasks.




• Assist with project management activities, including contract administration, costing, cost reviews and project registers.




• Contribute to civil engineering design, including drainage design and multi-discipline co-ordination.




• Carry out technical studies and assessments, including flood risk assessments.




• Use and develop digital tools and specialist civil design software.




• Help organise and attend team events.
  

Is this role right for you?

For this opportunity, we are seeking the following qualifications, skills and attributes:

• A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent is preferred; we also welcome applicants with backgrounds in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Earth Sciences.




• Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required; experience with AutoCAD and GIS would be an advantage.
