Arup is playing a lead role with a range of clients to develop innovative transport solutions for the future; from major highways projects to multi-modal transport solutions and active travel improvements.
Arup core skills in the Highways & Active Travel team range from geometric alignment design, surface water drainage design and building of intelligent 3D models; to stakeholder engagement and project management.
The Opportunity: Civil engineering is a central aspect of how we build, maintain and experience the modern world. Arup has been a leader in civil engineering for over 50 years, designing the vital water, energy and transport infrastructure that cities, countries and communities depend on.
We work with clients to plan, build, integrate and maintain a wide variety of civil infrastructure, from bridges to reservoirs, from metro tunnels to off-shore wind farms. Our technical teams address every aspect of civil engineering design, working in close collaboration with the full breadth of Arup's other design and engineering disciplines.
Civil Engineering within Transport: The Transport team thrives on the diversity of our work. Projects undertaken by the team include highway and public realm design, sustainable urban drainage, utilities co-ordination, water and wastewater treatment and energy related projects. We often play a key role in large scale multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects. The team is involved in projects throughout the project lifecycle, from initial concept stage through to detailed design and construction, for a wide range of both public and private sector Clients.
Is this role right for you? We Are Looking For Candidates With The Following Criteria:
- A degree in Civil Engineering, expecting a 2:1 or above, or equivalent
- Looking to develop your career in infrastructure design with a view to obtaining Professional Accreditation
- Have a willingness to learn new skills and a desire to deliver high quality work for a range of Clients
- A good communicator who thrives on working either on your own or in a team environment
- Have a passion for creating a sustainable future for all and Shaping a Better World
- Wish to explore how digital methods and automation can improve and enhance the work we deliver.
- Have an analytical thought process and/or a systems thinking approach
- Experience with AutoCAD, Civil3D and drainage design software is advantageous
