Our Mechanical Building Services Engineers apply their specialist skills to building projects across the globe and are influential at being able to drive reductions in carbon dioxide emissions and energy/water consumption to the benefit of our society. We offer our clients a broad spectrum of expertise and consulting services in, but not limited to, the following types of developments: commercial and residential developments, universities, healthcare buildings, laboratories and research facilities, transport projects, including airports and rail stations, sports facilities and stadia, hotels & leisure, theatres and performance venues, museums and art galleries, large‑scale industrial and manufacturing facilities and data centres.

Right now we’re looking for Graduate Mechanical Building Services Engineers to join our multi‑disciplinary design teams across the UK. From your first day, you’ll join an unrivalled community of experts, where everyone is supported in their career path and encouraged to work towards a professional qualification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development of mechanical design concepts that encompass the latest design thinking on low energy and low carbon design, natural ventilation, sustainability and zero carbon.
  • Complete the design of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems.
  • Using software and digital tools to analyse and optimise solutions.
  • Use of 3D modelling packages (Revit) to develop system designs.
  • Undertake thermal and Building Regulation compliance modelling using proprietary software (IESVE or similar).
  • Prepare mark‑ups and work with other design team members to progress holistic design of the project in question.
  • Prepare and input to decarbonisation strategies for buildings with respect to both operational and embodied carbon.
  • Conduct site visits.
  • Prepare reports, presentations and site reports.
  • Carry out analysis of new technologies and how they can be incorporated into our projects to ensure a sustainable and robust design.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mechanical, Architectural, or Building Services Engineering, however strong Bachelors degrees in these subjects will also be considered.
  • Studying, or have studied, an IMechE, CIBSE or Engineering Council accredited course.
