Overview

In this role you will contribute to a varied portfolio of rail projects within Arup's multidisciplinary Rail team.

You will help deliver projects on time, within budget and to the required quality, coordinating engineering and design activities and managing interfaces with clients and delivery partners.

You’ll work under a Senior Project Manager and with technical heads to share knowledge and drive continuous improvement, while developing your multidisciplinary project management experience on meaningful rail infrastructure work.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate engineering and design activities across multidisciplinary teams
  • Manage technical interfaces and ensure alignment with project plans
  • Monitor project plans, budgets, and quality against targets
  • Maintain clear communication with clients, project teams and delivery partners
  • Support bid and project lifecycle from planning to delivery
  • Report to Senior Project Manager and collaborate with discipline Technical Heads
  • Foster knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the Rail business
  • Key requirements
  • Experience supporting or managing multidisciplinary rail design projects
  • Project management experience in rail, transport infrastructure or similar complex environments
  • Strong communication, organisation and relationship-management skills
  • An appropriate degree or equivalent qualification (and interest in professional development)
  • APM Project Management Qualification or similar advantageous
  • Collaborative, proactive, adaptable approach; ability to travel within the UK
  • Experience in stations, depots, rail systems, rolling stock, electrification, decarbonisation, renewals or remodelling (beneficial)
  • Interest in innovation, process improvement, data analysis, Power BI or data visualisation (welcomed)
  • Right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship not offered)
