Our Electrical Engineers apply their specialist skills to infrastructure projects across the globe. We offer our clients a broad spectrum of expertise and consulting services in the following industries: Water, water and wastewater treatment, pumping stations, reservoirs, water distribution; Energy, hydro, CHP, waste-to-energy, solar PV, hydrogen, wind, gas; Power, HV/LV Transmission and Distribution; Industrial Clients, steam generation, chemical handling; Process, food and beverage processing. Our clients include water companies, energy generators, energy infrastructure owners, rail infrastructure owners, Government agencies and councils, process industries and renewable energy investors.
We’re looking for a talented Electrical Engineer to join our growing teams in either Glasgow, Manchester, or Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and contribute to impactful projects. At Arup, you’ll work on exciting projects across the UK in the Energy, Water, and Resources sectors. In this role, you’ll be hands-on with electrical systems, support the delivery of high-quality solutions, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. You’ll learn from industry experts, expand your technical knowledge, and build a strong foundation for future career growth.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to winning and delivering projects across the UK.
- Collaborate with clients and partners to develop innovative solutions.
- Work on project delivery, ensuring quality, timelines, and budgets are met.
- Apply and grow your knowledge of Electrical and Control Systems design, CDM regulations, and relevant design tools.
- Support our mission to create a low-carbon, equitable future aligned with Arup values and UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Qualifications
- Ability to interpret and produce detailed design documentation.
- Familiarity with design software and tools (e.g., Trimble).
- Enthusiasm to learn and develop technical and leadership skills.
- Ideally IEng or CEng Professional Registration status through IET, CIBSE, or other relevant body/ Degree qualified: likely Masters Engineering Degree or equivalent.
- Ability producing and interpreting complex or detailed design drawings and documentation.
- Specialist knowledge: either developing or developed within at least one specialist area of Electrical and/or Control Systems engineering.
- Appreciation of Electrical and/or Control Systems engineering and design.
- Knowledge of relevant design tools, techniques and related methods e.g. IT systems, Trimble etc.
- Adept with design software as well as other standard products.
