Our Information Management capability plays a critical role in enabling high-quality, compliant and efficient project delivery, particularly on large, complex infrastructure programmes. We are seeking an experienced Senior Information Manager to join our Information Management team, working predominantly on Energy sector projects. This role will provide leadership and hands-on delivery of information management across major electricity transmission and distribution programmes, including interconnectors, substations and overhead line (OHL) projects. You will operate across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and concept design through to construction, commissioning and handover. You will also contribute to the evolution of Arup’s digital information management capability, including the exploration, piloting and practical application of AI-enabled and automation-led solutions.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, advice and hands-on delivery in planning, implementation and effective use of project information systems and Common Data Environments (CDEs).
- Act as the Information Manager on complex projects, ensuring alignment with ISO 19650, client requirements and Arup standards.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and project leadership, ensuring information is managed as a strategic asset, providing advice on information risk, compliance and optimisation.
- Develop and maintain project-specific IM documentation, including IM strategies, EIRs, BEPs, TIDPs/MIDPs, naming conventions and information governance models.
- Define, configure, administer and assure CDE solutions using SharePoint / Microsoft 365, ProjectWise and Autodesk Construction Cloud (Forma).
- Establish and manage information structures, metadata, workflows, permissions and status codes across multi-system environments.
Qualifications
- Professional qualification, ideally degree-level (or equivalent) in an engineering or building discipline and a well-established background in Information Management, BIM, Digital Delivery or closely related roles within the built environment.
- Proven experience acting as Information Manager on complex energy projects.
- Strong knowledge and practical application of ISO 19650 (including BEPs, EIRs, TIDPs and MIDPs).
- Hands-on experience configuring, administering and governing SharePoint / M365, ProjectWise and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- Experience across project lifecycle and the ability to explain IM concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
