The Opportunity
We are looking for a motivated, experienced Electrical Engineer who has demonstrated their technical excellence in the field of building services and is looking for the opportunity to join a dynamic team with real potential for progression. The role requires a strong communicator who can collaborate effectively within teams, maintain commercial awareness throughout project lifecycles, and consistently deliver high-quality technical engineering work. The ideal candidate is career-driven and committed to supporting the development of our graduates and technicians.
As part of a collaborative team of over 20 engineers and technicians in the Glasgow office and a wider 100+ engineers and technicians within the North region, this opportunity will give the right candidate ownership of their project work, and the responsibility and freedom to manage tasks and plan their work. The team is currently involved in the delivery of a number of local, national and international projects that include major infrastructure, property, renewables, healthcare, commercial, science and industrial projects. Is this role right for you? We're looking for a candidate who:
- Is working towards being a Chartered Engineer (IET/CIBSE) and holds a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or another relevant subject.
- Has a solid track record in electrical and MEP building services engineering design, is proficient in the use of Trimble (Amtech/ProDesign), Dialux, and other electrical design software, and is familiar with BIM environments such as Revit and/or MicroStation.
- Has skills and experience in designing from first principles, as well as in the design of systems such as high and low voltage (HV & LV) distribution, lighting and lighting controls, fire alarms, security and access control, electrical systems for renewable energy, and earthing.
- Understands relevant British Standards and industry best practice, so that their project designs are realistic and practicable when it comes to installation and use.
