In this Design Manager role, you’ll guide multidisciplinary teams to deliver design work for energy, water and resources projects with a nuclear focus. You will help shape strategy from early planning through detailed design, acting as a trusted advisor on sustainable energy initiatives. You’ll balance technical delivery with stakeholder engagement, ensuring quality and regulatory alignment while mentoring colleagues and supporting bids and client development. The position offers impact across UK and international projects, with a strong emphasis on safety, innovation and collaboration.

Responsibilities
- Lead multidisciplinary design teams to deliver design outputs on time and to quality standards
- Oversee technical assurance and ensure compliance with regulatory and safety requirements
- Mentor and develop colleagues, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture
- Build and sustain client and stakeholder relationships to support bids and engagement
- Contribute to business development via technical proposals and client engagement
- Participate in wider Energy, Water & Resources projects beyond nuclear
- Support planning and strategy activities from early-stage to detailed design
Key requirements
- Master’s degree in Engineering, science or related discipline
- Chartered status or equivalent professional accreditation, or evidence of working towards it
- Demonstrated design and project management experience on major energy, water or resources projects
- Nuclear industry experience beneficial but not essential
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to varied audiences
- Experience building client relationships and contributing to winning work
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
