The Opportunity
We are looking to recruit a Civil Engineer to join our growing Midlands based Civils teams. From your first day, you'll join an unrivalled community of experts, where everyone is supported in their career path and encouraged to develop their skills and experience in new and exciting ways. Our current projects are varied, exciting, and often high profile, including prestigious buildings, state‑of‑the‑art transport infrastructure, transformational energy projects, flood defence and recovery projects, and sustainable infrastructure for large residential projects. We work across all phases of projects from advisory, concept, to detailed design and construction supervision. We deliver projects for a whole host of clients and organisations including government agencies (both national and local), local authorities, private developers, contractors, and utility/energy companies. We collaborate on projects across the UK and overseas as part of a wide and diverse global organisation and we are looking for candidates with cross‑discipline exposure and those that would be happy to work alongside our diverse, collaborative, and engaging colleagues in other disciplines.
You will be responsible for leading defined parts of design projects and individual projects, with the ability to check the quality and accuracy of your own and others work, whilst leading and supporting others in the delivery of their work. Presenting design options and solutions is an integral part of the role as well as working with clients, customers, and colleagues to imaginatively develop solutions to meet the desired outcomes of our projects. Whilst you will be given responsibilities from the outset, you will have the full support of the team, and we will give you the opportunity to take on more as you progress and broaden your skills.
Is this role right for you?
The role will be based in our Nottingham or Birmingham office. Site visits may also be required, along with regular visits to other offices. Candidates should be degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related field and have Chartered or Incorporated status with the Institution of Civil Engineers. You will have experience of working in a Civil Engineering design environment and contribute to projects or teams in at least one of our core areas of operation: Masterplan/site development; Sustainable drainage designs and modelling, flood risk management; Earthworks assessments; Highway, access road or external works design; Utilities coordination; Experience of working in an Energy environment would be an advantage. You will have experience of using CAD (Civil 3D or Bentley Openroads or similar), microdrainage/infodrainage and other digital tools.
