The Opportunity

Join Arup as our Payroll Manager - Americas (UK Based / 1 Year FTC) in a pivotal stage in our Global Payroll Transformation programme as we move to a single global payroll managed service provider, CloudPay.

This is a unique opportunity to combine leadership of the Americas payroll operation with a key role in shaping and delivering a major global transformation. You'll oversee payroll delivery across the US and Canada while leading the standardisation, redesign and migration of payroll processes into Arup's future operating model.

Working closely with payroll teams, business analysts, technical specialists, senior stakeholders and CloudPay, you'll help define future-state processes, gather and document requirements, facilitate workshops and ensure the successful delivery of project milestones across the Americas region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead payroll transformation activities across the Americas, supporting the migration to a global managed payroll service.
  • Partner with stakeholders to define future processes, operating models and business requirements.
  • Facilitate workshops, manage risks and dependencies, and drive project delivery against agreed timelines.
  • Act as the primary liaison between regional payroll teams, CloudPay and the global project team.
  • Support payroll integration activities with Arup's global Cloud HCM implementation.
Provide leadership and coaching to the Americas payroll team.
  • Oversee the accurate delivery of US and Canadian payrolls, ensuring compliance with payroll, tax and statutory requirements.
  • Produce management reporting, support audits and drive continuous process improvement.

Is this role right for you?

We're looking for an experienced payroll professional with a strong background in both operational payroll management and transformation delivery.

You’ll bring

  • Extensive experience managing complex US and Canadian payroll operations.
  • Proven payroll transformation experience, including process standardisation, outsourcing, managed service implementation or vendor consolidation.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems, payroll tax regulations and HR/payroll integrations.
  • Experience working with global stakeholders and leading cross-functional workshops.
  • Demonstrated project delivery skills, including risk, issue and dependency management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Experience leading and developing payroll teams.
  • Advanced Excel skills and a data-driven approach to problem solving.
  • Knowledge of Dayforce and Oracle EBS/Fusion would be highly advantageous.
