In this role you will lead the technical delivery of HV transmission cable designs, guiding best practices across HVAC and HVDC projects.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for HV and EHV cable design across AC/DC, overhead, and underground systems
  • Define and enforce best-practice design standards for HVAC and HVDC projects
  • Oversee detailed designs and lifecycle delivery; approve designs
  • Drive continuous improvement and lead rigorous technical reviews
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers; lead design teams
  • Support tendering with technical input and cost-optimisation strategies
  • Lead new technology initiatives and contribute to industry forums

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering; Chartered Engineer status essential
  • HV/EHV transmission cable design experience
  • Proven track record leading engineering teams on large-scale projects

  • Proficiency in advanced design software (CDEGS, CYMCAP, COMSOL, Auto CAD or equivalent)
