We deliver transmission and distribution design projects globally. In the UK, we provide services from concept through to detailed design for a wide range of clients, including established asset owners and new market entrants such as interconnectors and private wire schemes. Our team provides specialist electrical design and power systems expertise on large multi-disciplinary projects. The team is also involved in a wide range of projects in the energy, transport, nuclear, building and datacentre sectors.

We are looking for candidates holding MSc, MEng or BEng degree in Electrical Engineering / Electrical Power Systems or similar. Ideally you will be a Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership with the IET.

Essential Skills
  • Background in the design of EHV (400kV‑132kV) electrical systems including primary plant, secondary plant, overhead lines or cables
  • Proficiency in design/analysis software such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, IPSA, ETAP, ERACS, CDEGS, COMSOL, CymCAPSKM, KM or other
  • Knowledge of relevant electrical codes and standards for the UK
  • Solid understanding of protection and control systems and earthing
  • Experience producing electrical design deliverables, such as single‑line diagrams, protection schemes, earthing/grounding designs, cable calculations, and equipment specifications.
  • Interfacing with other engineering disciplines during the design process
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the UK, and occasionally overseas, to industrial sites.
  • Strong awareness of electrical safety, including HV working practices and design safety assessments
Desired Skills
  • Experience of working in an engineering consultancy environment
  • Familiarity with BIM and digital design tools, including CAD platforms (AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit)
  • Ability to support or manage design packages, budgets, and schedules
  • Tendering and cost estimation experience for electrical design packages.
  • Previous experience in Principal Designer role
  • Understanding and experience in design / studies for offshore wind farms, battery storage and/or HVDC systems
  • Experience in construction support, commissioning, or site verification of installation works

Your role will be technically focussed but will also involve client/project management in the capacity of a technical manager on project tasks as well as supporting bids and business development initiatives.
