Overview
You will join Arup’s Bristol Structures team to deliver technically challenging, sustainable structural designs across a range of sectors. In this multi-disciplinary group, you’ll collaborate closely with clients, architects, MEP engineers and other specialists to produce high-quality drawings, specifications and models. You’ll work with project managers and Revit technicians to plan and deliver on time and on budget, while guiding apprentices and graduates. This role offers meaningful, socially useful work within a globally respected engineering culture and a strong focus on sustainable development and embodied carbon assessment.

Responsibilities
- Combine engineering knowledge with digital design to produce efficient structural solutions
- Coordinate with clients, architects, MEP engineers and other technical specialists
- Collaborate with the structural team to deliver drawings, specifications and deliverables to a high standard, on time and within budget
- Work with the project manager to plan and deliver the project scope
- Collaborate with Revit technicians to develop 3D models and drawings
- Supervise and mentor apprentices and graduates
Key requirements
- BEng or MEng degree in structural/civil engineering (MEng preferred)
- Candidate should be nearing chartered status through ICE or IStructE
- Experience in structural Eurocode design of concrete and/or steel framed buildings
- Some experience with timber or masonry design is useful
- Interest in refurbishment/repurposing of existing buildings
- Strong communication skills demonstrated via sketching, drawings, presentations and reports
- Commitment to sustainable development; embodied carbon assessment experience is useful
