Overview
In this 10–12-month placement, you join Arup’s structural team to learn the craft under experienced engineers. You’ll contribute to projects ranging from new builds to modifications, focusing on low-carbon design and sustainable solutions. You’ll develop modelling, analysis and BIM skills while collaborating across disciplines. The role supports your professional growth toward chartership within a supportive, values-driven culture.

Responsibilities
- Carry out structural calculations and modelling to assess building behavior
- Design structural solutions that are economical, practical and low-carbon
- Build computer and structural models and prepare calculation documents
- Communicate through drawings, BIM, reports, meetings and presentations
- Collaborate with project teams to solve problems and innovate
- Plan work with deadlines and take responsibility for quality and delivery
- Develop and apply scripting/automation to improve workflows
- Invest time in relationships and contribute to team life and knowledge sharing
Key requirements
- Degree in General, Civil, Structural, Design or Architectural Engineering with 2.1 or above
- ICE-accredited course (studies or ongoing)
