Our 350‑strong Mid‑West Energy, Water and Resources (EWR) group supports major clients across the UK, delivering civil engineering solutions across water and wastewater treatment, non‑infrastructure works, network upgrades and AMP8 programmes. As demand grows, we are strengthening our civil non‑infrastructure capabilities across the region. We work with clients such as Welsh Water, Thames Water and Severn Trent Water, helping them plan, design and deliver projects that improve resilience and sustainability.
We are looking for an early to mid‑career Civil Engineer with curiosity, personal drive and technical knowhow. You will be part of the growing multi‑disciplinary water team, undertaking the design and delivery of critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in civil engineering and a passion for sustainable water management.
Within this role you will design and develop solutions to meet project objectives, including performing design calculations, creating engineering drawings and sketches, and preparing specifications and reports for water and wastewater infrastructure projects such as pipelines, pumping stations, and treatment facilities. Additionally, you will conduct root cause analysis, feasibility studies, and technical assessments. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you’ll collaborate and communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and other specialists including hydraulic modellers. Ensuring compliance with environmental, health and safety, and CDM regulations is a key aspect of the role. You will also mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team, while supporting innovation in sustainable design, climate resilience, and digital engineering.
We are looking for the following skills, experience and attributes:
- Qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Actively working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with ICE or equivalent.
- Previous experience in the water sector.
- Experience of working in multi‑disciplinary teams, taking projects from optioneering, to outline and detailed designs.
- A desire to learn, work in a team and produce high quality work.
- Proficiency in design software is desirable, but not essential (e.g., Civil 3D, Infodrainage).
- Strong communication skills.
