The Opportunity

Working within the Midlands Transport Roads Civils and Aviation team in either our Nottingham or Birmingham offices. We are also open to candidates based in the North West (Manchester). You will be involved in airfield infrastructure design, production of specifications, drawings and reports, site supervision and the supervision of more junior members of the team. You will be an Incorporated or Chartered civil engineer with UK design experience with proven client facing abilities. You will be involved in business development, which will include all aspects of bid support, project management, design liaison, and team management.

Responsibilities

The role is set in a multi‑project, multidisciplinary, multicultural environment where you will project manage airfield infrastructure projects. You will have a background of undertaking designs to airfield design standards such as EASA, ICAO, CAP168 and a good understanding of constraints associated with working on a live airfield. Recent project wins have led to an increase in our airfield infrastructure workload in the Midlands. Typical elements to be designed will include geometry; airfield planning and compliance; pavements; drainage; markings; utilities; and airfield lighting.

Qualifications

  • Experience on airfield pavements design and inspections.
  • Full clean UK driver’s licence.
  • MEng Civil Engineering or a good civils based degree.
  • ICE Chartered or working towards chartership or Incorporated.
