The Opportunity
Our Programme and Project Management team is growing, and we are seeking senior project managers with experience of leading major capital projects in the higher education, healthcare, science and industrial sectors to support our ambitious growth plans across the Midlands. We have been involved in making a positive impact on the Midlands economy for over 50 years, with an outstanding portfolio of iconic and high‑profile projects across the region, as well as supporting major national and international projects. A significant part of our work is in the design and development of some of the most functionally demanding buildings in the built environment. We seek applicants who have a passion for the design and successful delivery of high‑performing, large‑scale and complex buildings, combined with a natural ability to collaborate with and win the confidence of clients. These are strategic appointments, where progression and the opportunity to further develop your own ideas within a wider multi‑disciplinary business will be very much supported and encouraged. An important part of the role will be to work in collaboration with peers across Arup’s regional, national and international offices.
Responsibilities
- Lead and monitor the delivery of major capital projects.
- Work with multi‑disciplinary technical teams, managing multiple client stakeholders and developing and maintaining successful client relationships.
- Provide strategic advisory services, business case development, procurement advice, contract administration, stakeholder management and lead project teams.
- Support and advise clients in developing estate strategy, business cases, design, procurement, contract administration, and construction of capital projects.
- Oversee the management of other project managers.
Requirements
- Relevant degree in project management, engineering or science.
- Chartered in relevant professional body or interest in pursuing chartership.
- Significant postgraduate experience and knowledge of project management, engineering consultancy, or both.
- Track record of leadership, project success and commercial acumen.
- Self‑starter, client‑focused and skilled at developing relationships with professionals.
