We are looking for a highly experienced senior professional with extensive industry network who specialises in the design of Arts, Culture and Entertainment Venues to lead in project delivery and business growth as part of the Acoustics, Audio Visual and Theatre (AAVT) consulting team at Arup. Our growing team operates at the intersection of specialist venue technical design, creative industries and multidisciplinary building design, contributing to projects ranging from performing arts venues and cultural masterplanning to workplace and educational environments.
In this role you will:
- Lead the delivery and growth of Venue Consulting services, combining strategic advisory, venue planning and multidisciplinary design expertise.
- Support the development of cultural, entertainment, educational and workplace environments from concept through to delivery and operation.
- Work across complex programmes and portfolios, building strong client relationships and shaping and winning new opportunities.
- Provide impactful and strategic leadership to the team, with strong technical oversight across strategic planning, auditorium design, specialist performance systems, operational planning, and integration with acoustic and audio-visual design.
- Contribute to business growth through work winning, commercial leadership, continuous improvement in delivery, and digital ways of working.
We’re looking for a candidate with a strong track record in Venue Consulting, who combines technical credibility with commercial judgement, collaborative leadership and a passion for helping clients deliver better outcomes. We’d like to hear from you if you demonstrate expertise in:
- All aspects of theatre and venue design including strategic planning, auditorium design and specialist technical design both in the UK and internationally.
- Effective management, commercial oversight, quality assurance and project controls within complex delivery environments and evolving organizational structures.
- Building trusted relationships with clients and senior stakeholders and successfully translating their needs into high quality delivery.
- Developing high-performing teams, growing capability and supporting the development of people and services.
