Job description – the role

AMS is the world\’s leading provider of Talent Acquisition and Management Services. Our contingent Workforce Solutions (CWS) service acts as an extension of our clients\’ recruitment team and provides professional interim and temporary resources. We partner with Arup to support contingent recruitment processes. On behalf of Arup, we are looking for a Senior International Mobility Consultant for an initial 6-month contract based in London. It is a hybrid model.

About the Opportunity:

As the Senior International Mobility Consultant – UKIMEA & Europe, you will play an important role as a trusted mobility specialist providing technical advice and guidance across all geographies within the region for a variety of stakeholders including Arup business leaders, Arup members who are undertaking an international assignment, People team, finance and external providers engaged to facilitate International Mobility.

You will make an impact in this role by…

  • Engaging with and influencing our business leaders and People team stakeholders in appropriate IM advice at an early stage in order to assist them in making calculated business decisions related to International Mobility in and out of the region and engaging with Global IM counterparts where required.
  • Identifying, making and implementing recommendations relating to the transparency, affordability and flexibility of our IM offering without compromising the underlying principles, liaising with the IM leader and Global IM as appropriate to facilitate a unified change.
  • Considering appropriate Regional IM needs by listening to business leaders and balancing those with the Global IM framework.
  • Seeking opportunities to deliver IM related learning and development to the People teams in support of delivering holistic People team support across the business groups.
  • Partnering with external vendors to maximise relationships and vendor activity related to relocation, work permits, visas, and taxation.
  • Creating and distributing assignment documentation, collate approvals, address questions and engage with Arup members who are undertaking an assignment.
  • Providing IM support services to Arup members and families moving in to, and across, the region.
  • Managing the smooth transition of the assignee (and family) to their new location, by being a primary point of contact and provide ongoing support during the assignment, including extension/repatriation & localisation where appropriate

To achieve in this role, you are likely to have …

  • International Mobility experience in an in-house corporate environment, including technical knowledge of tax and immigration compliance.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to own professional development and to the development of others and brings wide and varied experience.
  • Actively develops technical knowledge, experience and skills of self and others, including those in other groups/offices.
  • Strong knowledge, experience and skills with managing the full life-cycle of an international assignment.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks whilst ensuring appropriate prioritisation on the delivery of solutions and keeping processes moving forward.
  • Takes action to assist in additional projects or tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a high level of attention to detail.
