On behalf of Arup, we are looking for a Sales Development Representative for a 12-month contract based in Birmingham or London, hybrid working, 3 times a week on site.

Purpose of the role: We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused contractor to support our sales development activities and help accelerate pipeline growth across the ADP portfolio. Working closely with Sales and Marketing teams, you will identify, engage and qualify prospective clients, generating high-quality opportunities for the commercial team.

What you'll do:

  • Identify and engage prospective customers through outbound prospecting, LinkedIn, industry events, marketing campaigns, and inbound enquiries.
  • Execute targeted outreach campaigns via phone, email, and social selling channels to generate new business opportunities.
  • Conduct discovery conversations to understand prospect requirements, business challenges, and buying intent.
  • Apply structured qualification methodologies to assess fit, prioritise opportunities, and determine sales readiness.
  • Qualify leads against agreed target customer profiles and opportunity criteria before handover to Sales Representatives.
  • Book and coordinate meetings between qualified prospects and the Sales team.
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of prospects through consistent follow-up and relationship building.
  • Accurately record prospect interactions, qualification notes, and sales activities within HubSpot and Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to optimise lead generation activities and improve lead quality.
  • Provide regular feedback on prospect engagement, campaign effectiveness, market trends, and competitor activity.
  • Meet agreed activity, lead generation, and pipeline contribution targets throughout the contract engagement.

The skills you'll need:

  • Proven experience in an SDR, Business Development, or Lead Generation role.
  • Proven ability to generate and qualify sales opportunities through proactive outbound business development activities.
  • Previous experience supporting the sale of technology or digital products is desirable.
  • Confident engaging with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Experience using qualification frameworks such as SPIN, MEDDIC, or BANT.
  • Proficiency with HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, or similar CRM platforms.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently.
