Job description - the role
AMS is the world's leading provider of Talent Acquisition and Management Services. Our contingent Workforce Solutions (CWS) service acts as an extension of our clients' recruitment team and provides professional interim and temporary resources. We partner with Arup to support contingent recruitment processes. On behalf of Arup, we are looking for a Project Engineer for a 6 Month contract based in London.
Candidate Profile: Key accountabilities, skills & experience
We have a need for a Senior Engineer to join the Infra team on secondment for the role of a Project Engineer in the Thames Valley area. Preference would be for a Civil Engineer with Waste water infrastructure (Pipelines) experience but clean water infrastructure experience would be considered. The role would be under Lot 3, FA1980.
Responsibilities
- Working under the direction of a Principal Engineer, the role is part of the intelligent client model Thames Water needs to be able to achieve its capital investment ambitions in AMP7 and beyond.
- Focusing on the Engineering discipline, the role will provide the expertise needed to:
- Oversee the development of a number of Projects to meet defined needs with best value solutions at various parts of the TW network within the Thames Valley.
- Understand and mitigate project Risks to reduce Programme and Project delivery Costs.
- Provide Design sign-off to between the Asset Management and Capital Delivery departments as the selected Delivery Stream dictates.
- Provide Technical Assurance for projects during the Delivery, Commissioning and hand over of Assets.
Criteria
- Degree-level qualified in the relevant discipline.
- Chartered status or equivalent (if applicable), and membership of the relevant professional institution.
- Postgraduate experience in the discipline, specifically within the water industry on relevant projects.
- Capable of operating at the required level, with demonstrable experience.
- In exceptional cases, resources not meeting the minimum criteria may be proposed, subject to approval by the Thames Water Framework Agreement Manager.
- Proven leadership experience across comparable environments, including team management.
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic oversight and ensure technical/delivery excellence.
- Authorised to review and approve team outputs prior to submission to Thames Water.
