On Behalf of Arup, we are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer for a 12 month contract based in Birmingham or London. The Senior Civils Designer is responsible for producing high-quality, compliant civil engineering design deliverables, supporting the delivery of work packages to agreed scope, schedule, cost, and quality standards. This role draws on broad experience across highways, drainage, and utilities coordination, and collaborates closely with the Technical Project Lead, Discipline Design Lead, CDAE/Package Design Lead, and other team members to ensure technical excellence, innovation, and alignment with National Grid and AAJV standards. What you'll do: Produce design deliverables (drawings, calculations, reports, models) in accordance with project requirements, National Grid standards (e.g., Lead design packages for drainage, highways, and utilities coordination. Liaise with planning authorities and stakeholders to support planning applications. Support onboarding and knowledge transfer of new team members. Chartered Civil Engineer (CEng MICE) with 7+ years of experience. Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering (BEng and MSc). Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microstation, and InfoDrainage. Experience in Section 278 schemes, sustainable drainage, and infrastructure projects including interconnectors and regeneration schemes.
