The successful candidate will champion design safety across multi-disciplinary teams, provide expert CDM advice and support the continued growth of our CDM Principal Designer capability. You will be expected to:

  • Lead design risk and hazard workshops.
  • Apply the General Principles of Prevention to identify and reduce design risks.
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to ensure safety is embedded throughout projects.
  • Manage high-risk interfaces and complex infrastructure risks.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients on CDM Regulations 2015 requirements.
  • Prepare and manage Pre-Construction Information (PCI) packs.
  • Coordinate communication between clients, designers, contractors and other stakeholders.
  • Undertake design and site safety audits, identify improvements and share lessons learned.
  • Oversee the preparation and completion of Health & Safety Files throughout project delivery.

Ideal Requirements:

  • Relevant degree in Civil, Electrical, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Chartered or working towards chartership with a relevant professional body.
  • Experience as a CDM Principal Designer, Design Safety Specialist, or similar design risk role.
  • Strong understanding of CDM Regulations 2015 and infrastructure design risks.
