On behalf of Arup, we are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer for a 6 month contract based in Warrington (hybrid).

A successful candidate would also have the potential at the end of this project to look at options in the wider Arup where our ongoing projects are varied, exciting and often high profile. These opportunities include working in the fields of Flood Risk and River Engineering, Transportation (Rail and Road), Energy, Utility Provision and Site development. Arup deliver projects for a whole host of clients and organisations including government agencies (both national and local), local authorities, private developers, contractors, and utility companies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading a small team producing detailed design solutions in a design and build environment to solve civil engineering challenges which generate mutually agreeable outcomes.
  • Supervision of others carrying out civil engineering design including checking of others' output and developing skills within the team.
  • Delivering Utilities related projects.
  • Responsible for defined parts of design projects and individual projects, including the commercial aspects of these elements/projects, generating budgets and programmes to deliver these defined sections of work and monitoring progress against them and reporting to project leadership.
  • Analytical, creative and conceptual thinking and evaluation of options to make decisions.
  • Working in regulated industry (preferably Nuclear Sector).
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD packages for design and use of suitable design software packages, spreadsheets and GIS.
  • Good general office and engineering skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to gain baseline security clearance.
  • Suitable Engineering Degree, in line with technical specialism.
