On Behalf of Arup, we are looking for a Principle Designer for a 6 month contract based in Birmingham (hybrid)

Candidate

Profile: Key accountabilities, skills & experience The successful candidate will champion design safety across multi-disciplinary teams, provide expert CDM advice and support the continued growth of our CDM Principal Designer capability.

You will be expected to: Lead design risk and hazard workshops.

Apply the General Principles of Prevention to identify and reduce design risks.

Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to ensure safety is embedded throughout projects.

Manage high-risk interfaces and complex infrastructure risks.

Act as a trusted advisor to clients on CDM Regulations 2015 requirements.

Prepare and manage Pre-Construction Information (PCI) packs.

Coordinate communication between clients, designers, contractors and other stakeholders.

Undertake design and site safety audits, identify improvements and share lessons learned.

Oversee the preparation and completion of Health & Safety Files throughout project delivery.

Ideal Requirements Relevant degree in Civil, Electrical, or a related engineering discipline.

Chartered or working towards chartership with a relevant professional body.

Experience as a CDM Principal Designer, Design Safety Specialist, or similar design risk role.

Strong understanding of CDM Regulations 2015 and infrastructure design risks.
