Our team helps road agencies, asset owners and operators to fund, plan, build, operate and maintain sustainable road and street networks. Our service is multidisciplinary, combining planning, behavioural modelling, design, engineering and environmental insights. The Opportunity
We are looking for an enthusiastic Pavement Engineer with excellent design, technical and software skills who enjoys working collaboratively within multi-professional design teams. With teams in Birmingham and Nottingham, you can choose which office to be based from on a hybrid basis. The role will have a focus on pavement design including airfield, highways and maritime environments. You will assist in the production of drawings, specifications and reports to support the project team. Is this role right for you?
- You will support the Senior Engineer and deliver a variety of projects across a number of infrastructure workstreams including but not limited to aviation, highways, rail and ports and heavy industries.
- You will deliver the preliminary and detailed design of infrastructure projects, primarily in the airside infrastructure space but be flexible to provide support expert advice commissions and other engineering disciplines. This will involve producing calculations, reports and drawings using your experience and knowledge of civil pavement design.
- In this role you will showcase your experience in pavement investigation, evaluation techniques and pavement strengthening design, along with your knowledge of pavement design principles (flexible, rigid and composite pavements).
We are seeking the following skills and experience:
- Qualification in Civil Engineering and demonstrable enthusiasm for pavement work.
- Chartered or working towards Chartership or working towards becoming a Certified Pavement Engineer as per CD 266.
- Membership of an appropriate professional institution (ICE or CIHT).
- Knowledge and understanding of earthworks and pavement materials (Concrete, Asphalt and Hydraulically Bound Materials).
- Experience in analytical pavement design.
