About the role
You will be involved in first‑opinion and referral care, including medical and surgical cases, advanced diagnostic imaging and rehabilitation. You will also support clinical coaching, CPD, and leadership development as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care in a busy hospital setting.
- Assist veterinarians in medical and surgical procedures.
- Operate advanced diagnostic equipment and participate in rehabilitation programs.
- Deliver patient and owner education and support.
- Contribute to clinical coaching and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Registered Veterinary Nurse (RCVS) with a valid driving licence.
- Valid RCVS registration and experience in a similar setting.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and empathy skills.
- Commitment to the values of humility, respect, honesty, work ethic, and collaboration.

Work schedule
4‑day week, 10‑hour shifts (7:30‑18:30, 8:00‑19:00, 8:30‑19:30) totaling 40 hours with 1 hour lunch break. Equal rota for daytime in‑patient care and weekend/emergency support with two days off in lieu for weekend work. No scheduled out‑of‑hours except as a last‑resort backup.
Location
Primarily based at the Chichester Hospital; coverage of other branches may be required.
