With both in-house joinery production and main contractor capability, we manage the entire project lifecycle, ensuring precision, control, and a consistently high standard of finish across everything we do.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated final year student or graduate to begin their career as an Assistant Project Manager/Quantity Surveyor, working across both project management and commercial functions. You’ll gain hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle while developing the commercial, technical, and delivery skills essential for a successful career in construction project management.
Duties include:
- Commercial/Quantity Surveying
- Assisting in the preparation and management of project budgets and cost plans
- Tracking expenditure against budgets and reporting financial performance
- Supporting procurement and managing subcontractor/supplier packages
- Analysing and comparing quotations
- Assisting in managing variations and cost changes
- Supporting valuations and financial reporting
- Helping coordinate project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Monitoring project progress against programme
- Maintaining project documentation and reporting systems (Softools)
- Attending site visits and client/project meetings
- Supporting delivery from pre-construction through to handover
- Using internal systems to track costs, programme, risks, tasks, and workflows
- Contributing to process improvements and reporting structures
Person spec:
- Graduate or final year student in a related discipline e.g. Quantity Surveying, Construction Management
- Clear, professional written communication (emails, reports, meeting notes)
- Confident when speaking with subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and internal teams
- Able to present information logically
- Strong listening skills and ability to ask the right questions
- Strong Excel skills (formulas, data structuring, cost tracking) and competent in Word, Outlook, and Teams
- Comfortable learning new digital systems (e.g., Softools)
- Able to manage digital files and data effectively
- Understanding of costs, revenue, profit, and margin and the ability to interpret cost plans, quotes, and spend vs budget reports
- Awareness of procurement impacts on overall cost
- High numerical accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent attention to detail
- Organised, methodical, and structured
- Commercially aware with an interest in business decision-making
- Proactive and willing to take ownership
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
