Pay Rate: Β£13.65 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week, Mon to Thurs, 8:30am-5pm & Fri, 8:30am - 4:30pm.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Support the Payroll Team in producing accurate, timely monthly payrolls, following procedures and deadlines.
- Handle administration for schemes like Cycle to Work, Childcare Vouchers, and statutory deductions, maintaining accurate records.
- Assist in investigating and resolving historical pay and pension issues.
- Help with administration of occupational pension schemes and employee benefit programs.
- Reconcile payroll outputs and reports in line with deadlines.
- Act as a point of contact for staff and stakeholder inquiries about payroll and pensions, providing guidance and support.
- Ensure data accuracy by conducting checks on payroll outputs, identifying issues, and liaising with the team for corrections.
- Communicate effectively with HR, Finance, and IT colleagues about payroll processes.
- Support the Payroll and Pensions Manager with audit-related activities.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to deliver a seamless service to staff.
- Follow Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR guidelines to maintain confidentiality and security of personal data.
- Perform other duties as required, consistent with your role.
Essential Person Specification:
- Two A levels OR vocational qualification at NVQ level 3 or equivalent
- Experience of working in a payroll/HR/Finance environment
- Experience of working to tight, fixed deadlines
- Experience in a high volume transactional environment
- Ability to manipulate data sets and analyse the output
- IT literate, expert skills in Excel
- Knowledge of processes, compliance and Pension legislation including Auto Enrolment
- Processing and maintaining company benefit schemes
Desirable Person Specification:
- Qualification in Payroll administration
- Previous exposure to payroll software implementation/upgrade and/or to projects
- Experience of working for multiple payroll clients
- Experience of using U4BW (formerly Agresso) software
- Knowledge of full payroll life cycle
- Knowledge of HMRC and UK payroll statutory regulations
- Working knowledge of TPS, LGPS, NHS and NEST pension schemes
